Bob Fleet was appointed Vice President, Forestry and Environment at Tolko Industries Ltd. in June, 2011. Tolko is a privately-owned, Canadian forest products company with approximately 3400 employees in the four western provinces. The company produces and markets lumber, veneer, plywood, oriented strand board and kraft papers. The company’s woodlands operation have received third party certification of their sustainable forest management policies.
Bob joined Tolko from Biosynergy Pellets in Walkerton Ontario, where he was a partner in the company. Bob formerly worked for Grant Forest Products Inc. where he held the position of Vice President, Woodlands and Environment – North America. Bob has working experience in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, South Carolina and Georgia.
Bob has expertise in several areas, including raw materials procurement and transportation, government, public and media relations, environmental, health and safety compliance, labour negotiations, business development and value added manufacturing. Bob also spent 14 years working with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources in various leadership positions.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of Toronto and is married with wife Lola and three grown children.
