Travel grants of up to $500 will be awarded to a limited number of students!

The Wildlife Society announces the availability of travel grants for TWS student members presenting an oral presentation or poster at the Society’s Annual Conference held each fall. Travel grants of $500 will be awarded to a limited number of students.


The application period for this year’s travel grants is closed.


To be eligible, an individual’s presentation first must be accepted for presentation by the Program Committee, the organizer of a TWS-sanctioned symposium, or poster session. The travel grant submission site will open on June 15. Applications and all supporting materials for student travel grants must be received by July 1, 2022.


Applicants must meet the following eligibility standards:

  • A member of The Wildlife Society (if not already a member, join here)
  • A current student, or recent graduate (degree received during 2020, 2021 or 2022)
  • Primary author of the accepted presentation


Completed application via XCD–online submission which includes:

  1. Abstract of presentation
  2. Draft of poster or PowerPoint presentation to be presented
  3. Explanation of how attending TWS’ Annual Conference will benefit you


The deadline for applications to be received is July 1, 2022. All applicants will be notified of action taken by the end of July. Please contact Mariah Beyers (Simmons) with questions regarding the travel grant application.

Many TWS Sections, Chapters, and Working Groups also offer travel grants to attend the TWS Annual Conference. A list of travel grants currently being offered is available here.
