“I’ve been in this society since I was an undergrad,” said Joanne Crawford with Michigan State University. “I’ve been to five meetings now. I come to meetings to be encouraged by other women and to inspire the next generation. It’s so important to keep us here.”
Some people attended WOW to get an opportunity to do some more networking.
“I’m here to figure out what the latest wildlife research is and meet people in the career,” said attendee Lindsey Engelbert.
And others want to make sure to keep these connections even after the conference.
“I meet all these amazing people and learn all these amazing things and then go back to work and lose those connections,” said Princess Hester, the director of administration with the Riverside County Habitation Conservation Agency. “I want to keep connected and share information and what it is we’re doing and working on.”
