Greg Siekaniec

Chief Executive Officer, Ducks Unlimited Canada

 

Gregory Siekaniec served as the Chief Executive Officer of Ducks Unlimited Canada since July 2012. Prior to joining DUC, Siekaniec worked 28 years with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), last serving as the Deputy Director. As Deputy Director he provided strategic program direction and policy development in support of the Service’s Wildlife Conservation Mission. As a career service employee Greg also served as the Chief of the National Wildlife Refuge System. He led efforts to prepare the Refuge System to meet the challenges of the 21st century. He oversaw a process to create a reinvigorated vision to guide the National Wildlife Refuge System for the next decade.  Siekaniec also spent twelve years as a Refuge Manager in Alaska.

Of late, Greg joined the Board of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative and was recently elected to the position of Vice Chair.

Siekaniec earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Montana. He completed the Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program in 2008, the same year that he completed the Senior Executive Fellows Program at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
